Camp Pinehurst has a 30 foot climbing wall. The wall has "mock rock" grips so the campers have a variety of different routes with varying levels of difficulty. The staff changes the design of the wall on a weekly basis so as to constantly challenge the campers.
All campers wear a harness and are clipped in to a top rope. An experienced staff member is "on belay" and uses a device called a "Grigri" that will automatically arrest the camper's descent in the event of a fall.
The climbing wall is one of the most popular activities at Pinehurst!
